Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a colorful mix of heroes, and a exciting storyline including divine entities, fiends, and malevolent powers expanding in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features Teor (played by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might seem mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his personal gain, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then cleared his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, seeks retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a nasty place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as key figures in House Halovar could enable the team access locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to travel to the remote area in search of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
According to the latest episode’s post-show segment, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear the following episode, leaving the other eight players to round up the Explorers and Schemers tables.
